MEET OUR TEAM

Norma Jean has always had a passion for technology. Founder and President of Tekchix, her 20+ year career in IT, staffing and recruiting puts Norma Jean in the unique position of understanding first-hand the needs of candidates and companies seeking talent.
With a Quantitative Business Analysis degree from Louisiana State University, Norma Jean’s career has spanned all aspects of business and technology. She has worked as a computer programmer, technical quality assurance analyst, business analyst, project manager, and program manager for Entergy, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, and on Department of Defense and Higher Education projects through Science and Engineering Associates, Inc.
After 12 years in IT, Norma Jean moved into staffing and recruiting, where her portfolio grew, and her record of success soon had her finding great IT candidates for Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies. Believing that getting the right people in the right jobs has the power to transform lives and businesses, Norma Jean knew she needed to create her own recruiting business.
In 2017, Norma Jean founded Tekchix, Louisiana’s leading IT recruitment agency that unites businesses with talent to transform digital strategies. Under her leadership, Tekchix has placed hundreds of top-notch candidates in great companies throughout the Gulf Coast. Her vast knowledge and experience are evident in Tekchix’s 8-step recruiting process, the backbone of the company’s 95% successful placement rate.
A New Orleans native, Norma Jean is committed to serving our local community and a larger purpose. With the goal of inspiring Louisiana students to get involved in IT, she serves on the Fidelity Bank POWER Advisory Board for Women Entrepreneurs, Southeastern Louisiana University’s Computer Science Advisory Board, the Louisiana Economic Development CEO Roundtable, and Tulane’s School of Professional Advancement Advisory Board.
Founder & President

Ava McClain has dedicated her career to helping people thrive.
Ava has always been enthusiastic about building relationships to support others and connecting them to transformational people and opportunities. She first discovered this love in high school as an officer and, ultimately, the president of the largest student-run community service organization in her school. In college, she served as an Orientation Aide for incoming freshmen, Vice President of Membership of a social sorority, and a representative for students who were brought to the Honor and Conduct Councils for alleged violations. Her diverse experiences in political campaigns, finance strategy, legal records, and sociology research serve as a basis for her knowledge of both business and people.
Soon after graduating summa cum laude from the College of William & Mary, Ava joined Tekchix to advocate for professionals in the Gulf Coast, Virginia and D.C. regions. At Tekchix, Ava manages several key client relationships, ensuring she understands their needs and career goals. She has helped the company grow from its original inception to one of the primary staffing firms in Louisiana.
Ava is dedicated to the community and culture of New Orleans, serving as the Co-Chair of the Sylvain Society for the New Orleans Opera. Her passion for supporting others extends to animals, too, volunteering at a local shelter and fostering as often as she can. Ava lives in the Mid-City area with her Shih-Poo, Patrick.

Saleha Mehr is an expert in communication and project management whose career crossed a variety of fields, including education, publishing and healthcare, before joining the Tekchix team in 2022.
Saleha is fueled by helping others reach their full potential. She first discovered this passion working as a K-5 Assistant Teacher and later, working with clients as a Communications Coordinator for a local publication.
